Just a short walk from our accommodation, the Caves are a great place to visit with multiple tours available every day (except Christmas Day).

We recommend you book your entrance tickets to the Buchan Caves by visiting the Parks Victoria website.

Buchan River Walk

The Buchan River Walk is approx 800 metres from the Telstra payphone phone box in the township (opposite the General Store), and winds along adjacent to the John Flynn Memorial Reserve then heads under the main Buchan-Murrindal-Gelantipy Road and into the Caves Reserve. It follows the Buchan River into the reserve toward the Visitor Centre, and ends at a car park opposite the Caves House. From the end of the River Walk, it is only 1km to the Visitor Centre.

Basin Creek Falls

Basin Creek Falls, 15km east of Buchan. A 1 hour walk from a picnic area down to the junction of Basin Creek and Snowy River.

Also a great place for a swim in the Snowy River.
